Methodology
Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2).
6 of the 15 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 8 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 1 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere.
The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source in USD (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences), so N counts sources, never sentences; 41 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded.
The fuller derivation this dataset is chartered to grow into (not yet what the figures above are; they are each source's own published figure as read): one row per filing jurisdiction per figure, quoted from that office's own fee schedule with its effective date: articles of organization (online and paper where they differ), every expedite tier and what it buys in hours, the name reservation fee and term, the annual or biennial report fee and its due date, and the franchise or minimum tax where the revenue department charges one.
Across the 51 rows the figures nobody publishes: the true first-year cost and the true five-year cost of an LLC in each state (formation + agent + every recurring charge), the cheapest and dearest state on each, the spread between the paper and online price, what an expedite hour costs in each state, and how many states charge nothing recurring at all.
Changed-since the previous read, which is the news every time a legislature moves a fee.
41 candidate sentences on these pages were refused by a reviewer; each refusal and its reason is recorded in the review ledger.
